On 29th September 2023, in association with world heart day Parumala Hospital had conducted a live musical concert with Sithara Krishnakumar’s Project Malabaricus band. On that auspicious event, Dr. Mahesh Nalin Kumar, Head of the Parumala Cardiology Department, was honored by His Grace Dr. Yuhanon Mar Chrisostomos for his achievement in completing the most leadless pacemakers in Kerala. A leadless pacemaker, unlike traditional pacemakers, is installed without incisions or surgery.
Father KV Paul Ramban, the manager of Parumala Seminary, presided over the meeting and welcomed five specialist cardiac doctors who will take over the cardiology department. Hospital CEO Father M. C Poulose , Kottayam Orthodox Theological Seminary Principal Father Dr. Reggie Mathew, Hospital Project Director & Secretary Shri. Varki John, Management Committee Member Father Roy P Thomas, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sherin Joseph, Senior Consultant of Cardiology, Dr. George Koshy also took the floor.
