First of July is celebrated as National Doctors Day in India in honour of the legendary Physician Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy (July 1st1882– July 1st 1962). It is customary to celebrate this day at our Parumala Hospital and appreciate the service of Doctors of our Hospital. Considering the ongoing pandemic situations and restrictions in place this year’s National Doctors day celebrations was conducted on online platform. The function was presided by hospital CEO Fr. M.C Poulose who gave the “National Doctors Day” message. He congratulated the doctors who have made meritorious achievements and innovative treatment efforts in the past one year. He also expressed his sincere thanks to doctors and all the healthcare professionals during the second wave of Covid 19. He condemned the increasing trend of attack on doctors and healthcare institutions and also expressed his concerns regarding the recent issue of attack on a young doctor at Mavelikkara. Doctor’s day celebrations were marked with a cake cutting ceremony. CEO Fr. M.C Poulose also handed over Doctor’s day gift to Dr. Sherine Joseph, Medical Superintendent of Parumala Hospital. Dr Melbin Monachen who worked as resident doctor for past 2 years in Parumala Hospital was felicitated in this occasion. The function was attended by Dr. Abin Varghese Thomas, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr. Sreekumar, Head of Neuro Surgery Department and Dr. Arun Sasikumar, Head of Nuclear Medicine Department.
