Parumala Hospital’s Endocrinology and General Medicine Departments jointly organized a World Diabetes Day Observance to raise awareness about diabetes management and prevention. The event, held in the esteemed presence of Hospital CEO Fr. M.C. Poulose, was presided over by His Grace Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, Metropolitan of the Kollam Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church. Honoring the occasion, the ceremony was inaugurated by Justice Jacob Benjamin Koshi, former Chief Justice of Patna High Court and former Chairperson of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission.
The program highlighted Parumala Hospital’s commitment to enhancing patient care and convenience. In line with this vision, the hospital introduced a tele consultation service, enabling patients to consult doctors from the comfort of their homes. Additionally, to commemorate World Diabetes Day, a special “One Rupee Diabetic Check-Up Package” was launched to provide affordable diabetes screenings for the community.
The event concluded with a moment of recognition for Dr. Lavanya Bony, Consultant Endocrinologist, who was honored for her outstanding achievement of securing the first rank nationwide in the DrNB Endocrinology Super Specialty Examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations in 2022, along with the prestigious President’s Gold Medal.
