The Parumala International Stroke Center, recognized as the leading comprehensive stroke center in Central Travancore, recently held a significant event to commemorate World Stroke Day. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sreekumar M, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Parumala Hospital, with the inauguration led by the esteemed MLA of the Puthuppally constituency, Shri. Chandy Oommen.
During this event, the newly launched Pediatric Neurology department was inaugurated by renowned actress Ms. Anarkali Marakkar. The Finance Coordinator, Fr. Thomas Johnson Cor Episcopa, extended his respects to Dr. Rakesh, who has taken charge as the first full-time Pediatric Neurology consultant, Parumala Hospital.
The program also featured informative sessions where senior consultant neurologist Dr. Anish Nainan discussed the Neurology department’s capabilities. Consultant Dr. Libby Pushparajan shared insights on the potential risks of stroke, while Dr. Vishal V. Panicker emphasized the importance of the Interventional Neurology department in stroke treatment. Additionally, consultant neurosurgeon Dr. Deepu Abraham Cheryan highlighted the critical role of the Neurosurgery department, and interventional radiologist Dr. Bibin Sebastian spoke about the significance of advanced mechanical thrombectomy in stroke care.
