World Trauma Day Awareness Held at Parumala Hospital

An awareness campaign for World Trauma Day was conducted under the Emergency and Trauma Care Department of Parumala Hospital. The event was chaired by Rev. Fr. Dr. Reji Mathew, former principal of the Orthodox Theological Seminary, and inaugurated by the esteemed MLA of Kayamkulam, Adv. U Pratibha.

Parumala Hospital is capable of providing rapid emergency care for mass casualties through its collaboration among experts in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Urology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Radiology and Interventional Radiology. In fact, Parumala hospital is one of the largest trauma care center in the Central Travancore with these facilities and departments.

The program featured presentations by various specialists on the workings of the Parumala Trauma Care Department. Dr. Balu P.R.S., Consultant Emergency Department, discussed the department’s operations, while Dr. Deepu Abraham Cherian,  consultant in Neurosurgeon, spoke about head and spine injury management. Dr. Bibin Sebastian from the Interventional Radiology department led discussions on that specialty as well.

With the recent establishment of the Interventional Radiology department in celebration of its Golden Jubilee, the Parumala Trauma Care Department has reached new heights in trauma management. The department is well-equipped with 36 beds, an operation theater, and ICU facilities to address all types of emergency situations effectively.
