International Women’s Day (IWD) is an occasion celebrated worldwide, commemorating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It’s a day to recognize the progress made towards gender equality and to acknowledge the contributions of women to society. Each year on March 8th, people come together to honor women’s achievements, raise awareness about gender equality issues, and advocate for a more inclusive world.
This year, Parumala hospital celebrated International Women’s day with renowned media personality Mrs. Rekha Menon on 8th March 2024 which was presided over by former Head of Alappuzha Medical College Gynecology Department and Senior Consultant of Parumala Gynecology Department Dr. Lalithambika Karunakaran, hospital medical superintendent Dr. Sherin Joseph, Pathologist Dr. Linta Thampi and Nursing Superintendent Mrs. Mini Razak spoke.
Mrs. Rekha Menon conducted a motivational class on coping with life’s problems and an interactive section answering questions and doubts of the audience. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Skipping and Dumbbell Challenge conducted for women employees of the hospital on the occasion of Women’s Day.
