The Emergency Department of Parumala Hospital has achieved a significant milestone by receiving accreditation for the DNB (Diplomate of National Board) course from the National Board of Examinations in Delhi. This prestigious recognition equates the DNB Emergency Medicine course with the MD Emergency Medicine offered by medical colleges. This three-year postgraduate course is available to candidates who have completed their MBBS.
St. Gregorios Hospital has become the first private multi-specialty hospital in Central Travancore to achieve this honor. The accreditation ceremony was held on World Emergency Medicine Day, May 27, at 3 PM. The event commenced with a welcome speech by the hospital’s CEO, Fr. M.C. Poulose. The copy of the DNB accreditation was handed over to Dr. Linu Abdul Latheef, the Head of the Emergency Medicine Department, by His Grace Dr. Yuhanon Mar Chrysostomos, the Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese.
The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including the chief guest, Rev. Fr. John Eapen, Secretary of Mavelikkara Diocese, along with Fr. Thomas Johnson Cor-episcopa, the hospital’s Finance Coordinator, Chaplain Fr. Jiju Varghese, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sherin Joseph, and Emergency Medicine Consultant Dr. Balu P.R.S..
