Dr. Josy Thomas K

Dr. Josy Thomas K is a highly skilled Consultant in Pediatric Surgery at Parumala Hospital, with a strong academic and clinical background from some of India’s most prestigious medical institutions. He holds an MCh in Pediatric Surgery from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, and an MS in General Surgery from Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.

Before specializing in Pediatric Surgery, Dr. Josy completed his service obligation at the Lady Willingdon Hospital in Manali, where he managed a wide range of specialties including Obstetrics and Internal Medicine in a resource-limited setting. He also served as a Senior Resident in both the Departments of Pediatric Surgery and General Surgery at CMC Vellore, gaining valuable experience prior to his MCh training.

At PGIMER, Dr. Josy received extensive hands-on training in managing critically ill surgical neonates in the NICU. He is proficient in performing complex neonatal procedures, including surgeries for diaphragmatic hernia, esophageal atresia, and necrotizing enterocolitis—even in preterm infants. In addition, he routinely performs pediatric laparoscopic procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and orchidopexy. He is also experienced in adult general surgical procedures.

Dr. Josy Thomas has a special interest in Neonatal Surgery and Pediatric Oncosurgery, areas where he continues to build expertise and deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.
