As Parumala Hospital marks its 50th year, having commenced operations on September 11, 1975, it embarks on a significant milestone—its Golden Jubilee. The official ceremony for the commencement of the two-year-long Golden Jubilee celebrations was held on September 8th, under the presidency of the Supreme Head of the Malankara Orthodox Church, His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III. The Governor of Goa, Honorable Mr. P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, inaugurated the celebrations.
The event also saw the launch of Kerala’s first comprehensive Interventional Radiology Department, which was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for Health, Women, and Child Development, Smt. Veena George. Following this, the soft launch of the newly introduced Pediatric Oncology and Palliative Medicine departments for the Golden Jubilee year was carried out by the Honorable Tiruvalla MLA, Advocate Mathew T. Thomas.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Niranam Diocese Metropolitan, His Grace Dr. Yuhanon Mar Chrisostomos, His Grace Kuriakose Mar Clemis Metropolitan, Priest Trustee Fr. Dr. Thomas Varghese Amayil, Church Association Secretary Adv. Biju Umman, Hospital CEO Fr. M.C. Poulose, Project Director Er. Varkey John, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sherin Joseph, and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Abin Varghese.
